There's never a better time than right now to be out with the OLD and IN with the new!

2016 was a little unpredictable, however, 2017 is looking to be a boundary-pushing year for interiors.  From unusual textures to jaw-dropping colors and new trends in metal, here's 5 new looks that will define 2017.

OUT - Oversized furniture.  IN - Simplicity.  Oversized furniture overwhelms and is an inefficient use of space. Choose furniture that is sleek, simple and sexy, and gives your living space room to breath.  A perfect example is this Selamat Designs Soren Ventura Lounge Chair or Aeon's Bertram Occasional Side Table.

OUT - Brushed Metal.  IN - Bronze & Gold.  Industrial, burnished metals have had their day.  Shiny, warm metal are re-surging and adding elegance this year. Metal Mirrors are a great way to add dimension, texture and elegance to your decor.

IN - Marble.  Marble is a huge trend this year, especially when paired with wood. Marble is even showing up on textiles, such as the new Marble Pillow (below) by Company C.  Try mixing in a few marble pieces along side wooden pieces for a new look that you will surely enjoy.

IN - Jewel Tones.  Say goodbye to beige!  Deep jewel tones, like emerald green or amethyst, as well as pastel colors, that are found in nature are popular.

IN - Nailhead details.  This classic accent for upholstered pieces is being used in whole new ways.  Nailhead details add a touch of class to simple pieces.

We hope that we have inspired you to throw out the old and bring in the new.  Remember, the rule is:  for every 1 new item that you introduce, you must throw out 2.

Simplify, simplify, simplify.... and breathe.
